Personalitywise, Elphaba and Luna seem to have little in common. Elphaba Thropp, who is an outcast largely because of her green skin, wants to be accepted; Luna doesn't seem to care. However, Elphaba and Luna both like having friends, and don't seem to have many. They both became 'friends' with the most popular girl at school - Luna with Ginny, Elphaba with her rich society roommate Galinda Arduenna. Elphaba and Luna are both in the 'outcast' role. Neither of them have the patience for certain types of social niceties and have no trouble speaking uncomfortable truths. Both of them are willing to take action on things they believe in even if it puts them in danger and makes them more unpopular. Fiyero is the most popular boy at Oz's Shiz University. He ends up dating Galinda, the most popular girl at school, but leaves her for the outcast who makes him see the world through different eyes. |
